Kūchū Buranko (Flying Trapezes) won the 9th (2009) annual Visual Technology Award of the Motion Picture and Television Engineering Society of Japan, and the Pulcinella Award in the TV Series for Young Adults category at Cartoons on the Bay 2010 festival

Kūchū Buranko (Flying Trapezes) produced by Toei Animation Co., Ltd. was awarded the
9th (2009) annual Visual Technology Award of the Motion Picture and Television Engineering Society of Japan. 

  Furthermore, enjoying high reputation in foreign countries, the series also won the Pulcinella Award in the TV Series for Young Adults category at Cartoons on the Bay 2010 festival in Rapallo, Italy

 TV Animation series Kūchū Buranko (Flying Trapezes) was broadcast on Fuji Television’s noitaminA block from October through December 2009. The series became popular with its outrageous and rich-entertainment visual work.


The original story comes from The Psychiatrist Irabu series of novels: In the Pool, Kuchu Buranko (Flying Trapeze), and Chocho Senkyo (Mayoral Election). The novels were written by Hideo Okuda (Bungeishunju Ltd.). Kuchu Buranko won the 131st Naoki Prize and this much-loved series sold of 2.23 million copies.
