The broadcasting of the fifth series of Ge Ge Ge No Kitaro, produced by Toei Animation Co., Ltd., gets underway on April 1, 2007 at 9 a.m. on Fuji Television network. Original story by Shigeru Mizuki, Ge Ge Ge No Kitaro first appeared on TV in 1968 in black & white and became very popular, to the point where yokai (ghastly apparition) was for a while a major hit with children. Since then, every remake of the popular comic has become a huge hit. Today Kitaro is still one of the flagship series of the company. The latest series, the fifth, features the familiar main characters of Kitaro and is packed with thrilling, scary and exciting scenes.
